“At last I understood that I needed to say “Yes” to Jesus…”
When I was a young child, I was given a booklet called The Master’s Ticket. My father was in the Navy and the story was about a ship and it’s Captain. It was also about the Christian life including salvation, obedience, prayer and the love, guidance and protection of God. This had a big impact on me and I fell in love with Jesus. Stories speak to me, and this one was underlined later by the wonderful takes of Aslan in the Narnia Chronicles by C S Lewis. My parents were churchgoers so I learned more about God over the years. At thirteen, they sent me to a Christian holiday where there was a mix of fun and teaching. The Gospel was explained clearly over that week and at last I understood that I needed to say “Yes” to Jesus for myself and invite Him into my heart as Saviour and Lord. I made that decision and He kept His promise to come in and stay. – Revelation 3, verse 20. This has been a beautiful relationship for nearly 50 years, and I am so thankful!
