“God had answered directly without me putting the property up for sale…”
A few years ago my fiancee and I wanted to get married.
We were a little unsure about the timing of the wedding. We wondered if we should get married before winter came or sometime in the spring or summer of next year. In addition, we had no money to finance a wedding.
One night we prayed together. During the prayer it occurred to me that I own a property that has a large backyard that could be shared. In prayer I said, God, if You also want this please give us a buyer for the backyard. That same evening we said goodbye and my fiancée went home.
The very next morning I had breakfast planned with a friend. While we were sitting at the table and having breakfast together, the doorbell rang. I wasn’t expecting anyone and was a bit surprised. When I opened the door, my neighbor greeted me. Out of the blue he asked me if I could consider selling part of my backyard to him. He explained to me that it would annoy him if someone built right in front of his house (because our property was building land). But to make sure that it would never happen, he would like to own part of my garden himself and a right to have a say. He also emphasized that he did not want to use the garden at all and that I am very welcome to continue using and maintaining it, but anyway he would like to buy the property.
I was completely perplexed because God had answered directly without me putting the property up for sale in the market. The purchase actually took place a few weeks later, so that my fiancee and I could finance the wedding in the autumn. In addition, through this answered prayer we were more certain that God would bless our marriage – and with all the blessed abundance we continued to use the garden. Hallelujah!
