Answered Prayer #000000

“Honestly we thought it too trivial to pray about…”

This is a testimony of God answering a prayer that seemed too trivial to pray – but the Bible says ‘the hairs on our head are numbered’ – and this story certainly shows how God cares about the little things in our lives.
When our son was four years old, he had a particular white comfort cloth that he couldn’t be without. We had been to a Christian holiday camp at Butlins called Spring Harvest, and at the end of the week we had to strip the bedsheets and pillowcases, and leave them on the floor to be collected.  When all the sheets for all the chalets in all the blocks had been collected, there were about 10 trolleys each around 6 feet high, full to the top with white sheets.
As we got into our car to prepare for the 5 hour journey home, and our son reached for his comfort cloth…  of course, it had been left in his bed and was now somewhere in the white mountain of sheets for washing, sitting outside the chalets. The  chances of finding it seemed to us as likely as finding a needle in a haystack. There was no way we were going to find it. But there was also no way we could face a 5 hour journey – and there was no way our 4-year-old could face life without his white comfort cloth!  It seemed an impossible situation, and honestly we thought it too trivial to pray about but we had just been on a weeks Christian holiday  so we thought we might as well give it a quick prayer!  We rattled off a very unholy-sounding prayer and thought we would just look for a moment to reassure our son whilst hastily brainstorming how we could replicate the cloth with its distinctive holes (and smell!)
We approached the trolleys with no real expectation that we would find the cloth but, after praying, did feel drawn to look at one particular trolley – and there, right on the top of that very trolley, amongst a sea of white sheets, was the small white comfort cloth.
As our son sucked his thumb on the way home, cloth pressed against his cheek for comfort, he had no idea he had just witnessed a little miracle.
