“I had a wife and 3 children to support and a mortgage to pay…”
I was made redundant from my job at short notice, with a minimum payment. I had a wife and 3 children to support and a mortgage to pay. I applied for several jobs and had a few interviews, but my leaving date arrived, with no job, just before Christmas. I and my wife prayed and trusted God. On the Monday morning after redundancy Friday, a Christian friend living far away rang up out of the blue to say that they had been praying for us in the night, even though they didn’t know our predicament. Later that same morning, someone who had already interviewed me rang me up and offered me a temporary job, in a city 80 miles away. Our church gave us a gift of £100 for Christmas. A year later, the job was made permanent. The new employer paid for my family and me to move house to the new city. It was a painful situation at the time, but it worked out well in the end. Thank you Jesus.
