“She would not talk about the situation with her mum…”
My sister is a single mum and has brought her only child up completely on her own. They have always been very close until six months ago when my neice met a boyfriend. She began to change and a number of arguments between mother and daughter started. One day when her mum was out my niece packed all her belongings and left home. She cut my sister off completely and blocked all lines of contact. My sister had no idea why or where she had gone. I contacted my niece to check she was alright. She told me she had moved in with her boyfriend and wanted nothing to do with her mum. My sister was devastated. She could not contact her daughter to even begin to finding out what had gone so wrong.
After five months of no contact I arranged to see my niece. I had been praying over the last five months and as I drove there myself and my husband prayed. Although my neice seemed happy and welcomed my visit she would not talk about the situation with her mum. I tried to ask her but she got angry and said she did not want to talk about it or see her mum at all. I carried on praying and on the way home visited my sister and explained what had happened. My sister was so upset as she had hoped there would be some breakthrough and I would have at least found out why my niece had cut all contact with her. I too was disappointed. But I continued to pray and during the night my niece sent my sister a message saying let’s draw a line under everything and be friends again. The next day they met up and had a lovely time together. They are now in regular contact again.
